The vehicle-mounted antenna enables IsatPhone 2 users to enjoy its high quality and uninterrupted voice connectivity, while on the move. The active antenna provides a constant ‘line of-sight’ to the Inmarsat-4 global satellite network so that personnel working in isolated or volatile areas can continue to use IsatPhone 2 while driving their vehicle, keeping them in touch, safe and productive.
 
Simply connect the antenna to the cradle and place the magnetic mounted antenna in a position with clear view of sight to the satellite. Dock your Isatphone 2 into the cradle and you have a simple satellite communication solution on the go.

  1. Connect the antenna cable from the antenna to antenna connector on IsatPhone 2 cradle.
  2. Place the magnetic mount antenna on your vehicle roof with clear view of sight to the Inmarsat satellite.
  3. To dock the phone to the cradle, lift the antenna ‘cover’ at the back of Isatphone 2 and rotate through 180 degrees, then push down into the open position. Lift the ‘cover’ in the base of the phone and rotate through 180 degrees. An audible ‘click’ is heard when the phone is in the docked position.
  4. Connect the first USB cable to the micro USB connector at the bottom of the cradle and car charger. This is to power the active antenna.
  5. Connect the second USB cable to the micro USB connector at the bottom of Isatphone 2 and car charger. This is to charge your Isatphone 2.
  6. Insert the dual USB car charger into the cigarette lighter outlet in your vehicle.
  7. Secure the suction cup mount to the cradle. Mount the suction cup on your vehicle windscreen to hold the Isatphone 2.
  8. There are four ways to use your Isatphone 2 for hands-free communication while driving:
    • 8.1 Connect a wired hands-free headset to IsatPhone 2
    • 8.2 Use the speaker function on Isatphone 2
    • 8.3 Connect to your vehicle Bluetooth
    • 8.4 Connect to your Bluetooth headset
    • When using Bluetooth option, please note there may be limitation due to Isatphone 2 Bluetooth version 2.0. Please ensure your vehicle Bluetooth or Bluetooth headset supports Bluetooth version 2.0. To use Bluetooth function on Isatphone 2, follow the instructions below:
      1. Turn on Bluetooth on Isatphone 2: Go to Isatphone 2 Menu – Settings – Bluetooth – Settings – Bluetooth – select ‘ON’. Ensure your vehicle Bluetooth or Bluetooth headset is turned on and on pairing mode.
      2. Pair the devices: Go to Isatphone 2 Menu – Settings – Bluetooth – Settings – Paired devices – Options – Select ‘Search for devices’ – Select your Bluetooth device from the list and enter a pairing code provided by your Bluetooth device.
      3. Connect the devices: Once your Bluetooth device is paired to Isatphone 2, you need to connect them. Go to Isatphone 2 Menu ’ Settings ’ Bluetooth ’ Settings ’ Paired devices ’ Options ’ Select ‘Connect’.
      4. Connected devices: Check that your Bluetooth device is now connected to Isatphone 2 and ready to work. Go to Isatphone 2 Menu – Settings – Bluetooth – Settings – Connected devices – your Bluetooth device should be listed here. If not, go back to step (c) to connect them. On the phone home screen, you should see the Bluetooth symbol now shown on the right corner.
      5. If the Bluetooth pair or connect failed, it means your Bluetooth device does not support Bluetooth version 2.0. Please use a wired hands-free headset for hands free communication.
  9. You now have a simple satellite communication solution on the go.
