Pivotel unveils cutting-edge CommsLink Trailer at Beef2024
Pivotel, a leading provider of satellite and mobile communication solutions across Australia and New Zealand, has introduced the ecoSphere® CommsLink product range at Beef2024. The ecoSphere® CommsLink line is a trailer-based solution designed to serve as a portable communications hub, addressing connectivity challenges in regional, rural, and remote areas where fixed and mobile infrastructure is limited. Pivotel is showcasing the solution at Beef2024, at site 044.
The ecoSphere® CommsLink trailer, a collaboration between Pivotel and West Australian mobility equipment specialists Mining Technicians Group Australia (MTGA), utilises the latest in solar, battery and communications equipment to create a world-class mobile communications solution. The project has seen the two organisations leverage their collective expertise, working together to ensure that this Australian-made platform is designed and manufactured to the highest standards, making it robust and ready to enable seamless connectivity, even in the harshest and most isolated environments across Australia and New Zealand.
The ecoSphere® CommsLink solution is available in various specifications, depending on the end user's requirements. Included as standard is a professionally managed, long-range Wi-Fi 6 network that provides coverage up to 1 km from the trailer, or an area of 100 hectares. Managed services are supported by Pivotel’s 100% Australian-based call centres and operations team, while internet connectivity is provided by a best-in-class Pivotel Starlink LEO service. All of this is powered by a fully autonomous energy system that is kept charged by an array of rear-mounted solar panels, completing an entirely standalone solution delivering uninterrupted communications when and where you need it.
The ecoSphere® CommsLink trailer can be tailored to a user's specific needs with additional capability including optional upgrades to cellular 4G and/or 5G equipment, additional solar panels and batteries to handle increased power demands or autonomy, ultimately enhancing overall availability, resiliency and utility. This allows for the most fit for purpose technology to be crafted for a given use case while providing coverage up to 5km from the trailer, or an area of up to 80,000 hectares.
Speaking at the launch, Richard Fear, ecoSphere General Manager at Pivotel stated, "We’re proud to make this announcement today and be able to provide a much-needed solution that ensures Australian Beef Producers can stay connected whether out in the paddock, at the yards or inside the shed. Pivotel’s CommsLink solutions will ensure that producers have access to critical data at their fingertips in real-time, allowing them to make informed decisions optimising operations and driving productivity gains, while ensuring safety and compliance across the farm. The ecoSphere® CommsLink products represent a significant leap forward in portable communication technology. Whether in agriculture, emergency response, or event management, these solutions ensure seamless connectivity wherever it’s needed.”
